Tim Johnson put himself into playoff contention with a big TKO victory in the first round over Danilo Marques. This wins moves Johnson into 2nd in the standings. This victory also gives him a much needed 6 points in the PFL Standings.
Tim Johnson Secured Himself a Quick 6
Tim Johnson nearly secured the TKO victory after 2 minutes when he landed a massive over hand left. This shot did knock down Danilo however, Danilo landed a low blow. This resulted in Tim Johnson dropping to the ground in pain and not being able to jump onto Danilo Marques to land ground and pound. However, Johnson took the time to be able to recover before being able to get back onot his feet to restart the fight.
The fight wouldn’t even last a minute and a half after restarting as Tim Johnson would be able to drop Danilo again and land some heavy ground and pound. This resulted in the referee telling Marquez to show something or the fight would end up being stopped. However, while Marquez was able to keep the fight from being stopped he didn’t stop the ground and pound. Johnson would keep throwing some heavy shots which would end up stopping the fight.
This result gives Johnson 6 points and moves him up to 2nd in the PFL heavyweight standings. Tim Johnson will have to wait and see what happens with the other results this evening however, he has definitely given him a great chance to progress. The only other fighter which is currently above him in the rankings is Valentine Moldavsky. The only reason why Tim Johnson isn’t in first is due to Moldavsky being able to secure the first round stoppage quicker than Johnson. However, Johnson will wait and see if he has been able to qualify for the playoffs on August 2nd
