Turkey’s most expensive destinations to fly to: Afyonkarahisar and EskiÅŸehir top the list

A new study has revealed the most expensive destinations in Turkey to fly to this winter, based on the average flight prices to each city. 

The research, conducted by travel experts Istanbul Tickets and Tours, analysed the average flight prices to Turkish destinations to determine which ones are the most expensive destination to fly to this winter. 

The most expensive city to fly to in Turkey is a tie between Afyonkarahisar and EskiÅŸehir, with average flight prices of £314.33. The cheapest week to fly to these destinations this year is 29th November, with flights costing £306. 

Second is Antakya, with an average flight price of £281.95. The region around Antakya is characterised by beautiful landscapes, including the nearby Orontes River and the stunning Amanos Mountains. For the cheapest flights, tourists should plan to travel during the weeks of 29th November and 27th December, with flights costing £137.90. 

Elazığ ranks as the third most expensive, with an average flight price of £250.34, and is a city in eastern Turkey known for its rich history, natural beauty, and cultural heritage. Flights cost around £177.32 if you choose to fly on 15th November. 

In fourth place is Balıkesir, with an average flight price of £174. The region is known for its diverse cultural influences, including Turkish, Greek, and Kurdish traditions, which can be seen in its architecture, cuisine, and festivals. The best week to fly here for cheaper tickets this year is 8th November, with flights costing £174. 

Antalya places fifth, with an average flight price of £168.33. Antalya is located along the Turquoise Coast, famous for its crystal-clear waters and stunning Mediterranean beaches, which makes it a popular destination for those wanting a relaxing beach holiday and water sports enthusiasts. Flights cost around £151 if you choose to fly on 6th December. 

In sixth place is Trabzon, with an average flight price of £163.90. Trabzon has a deep historical background, once serving as a major hub for trade and commerce in the Byzantine Empire. The city is home to the famous Hagia Sophia of Trabzon, built in the 13th century. The best week to fly here for cheaper tickets this year is 15th November, with flights costing £146.90. 

Bursa ranks in seventh place, with an average flight price of £163.33. Bursa is home to several significant historical sites, including the Grand Mosque of Bursa, known for its impressive architecture and calligraphy, and the Green Mosque, famous for its intricate tile work. Flights cost around £148 if you choose to fly on 6th December. 

In eighth place is Osmaniye, with an average flight price of £162.33. Osmaniye has seen significant economic growth in recent years and is known for having a pleasant climate in the winter months for tourists to escape to, with temperatures averaging 15.89°C. The best week to fly here for cheaper tickets this year is 29th November, with flights costing £151. 

In joint ninth place is Mersin and Tarsus, with an average flight price of £161. Mersin is known for its beautiful beaches and archaeological sites, with settlements dating back to ancient times. Tarsus is rich in cultural diversity and a significant trade centre. Flights cost around £142 if you choose to fly on 29th November. 

Lastly, Ä°skenderun takes tenth place, with an average flight price of £153.30. The city has a rich history, dating back to ancient times. It was originally founded as “Alexandretta” by Alexander the Great and has been influenced by various civilisations, including the Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans. The best week to fly here for cheaper tickets this year is 29th November, with flights costing £150.90.

“Each destination is full of unique landmarks, and tourists can find everything they are looking for in one of these beautiful cities.”
