Jet2 has extended its route in response to demand from its customers, as reported by Travel Gossip.

New flights will operate between four UK airports to Bodrum, with tickets already on sale.

Both Birmingham International Airport and Leeds Bradford Airport will get three new flights between November 6 and November 13.

Flights from Birmingham International Airport will operate every Wednesday and Friday, with services operating from Leeds Bradford Airport every Wednesday and Sunday.

Manchester Airport will also get three new services to Bodrum in November.

There will be three flights a week between November 6 and November 17, 2024.

Jet2 will also operate additional flights from London Stansted Airport, with three-weekly flights between November 4 and November 17, 2024.

Holidays are also being extended with Jet2holidays.

Steve Heapy, boss of Jet2, said: “This summer has seen Bodrum enjoy great demand with our customers, so we are delighted to be extending the summer season to give customers and independent travel agents even more choice.

“We have worked in partnership with hoteliers to ensure there are fantastic accommodation options available right through to mid-November and we are looking forward to filling these hotels with happy holidaymakers.”

Bodrum is known as the “St Tropez of Turkey” thanks to the dozen of superyachts that line the bays in the Turkish city.

With a pristine promenade and designer shops on every corner, it’s a magnet for the rich and famous — Mick JaggerKate MossTom Hanks and Bill Gates have all graced its cobblestone streets.

Arguably, one of Bodrum’s main draws is its 65 beaches, including Bitez Beach, Kumbahçe Beach and Central Bodrum City Beach.

Bodrum sits on the site of Halicarnassus, which once held the Mausoleum — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

It is also home to a 15th-century castle and Museum of Underwater Archaeology, which houses one of the oldest prehistoric exhibitions in the world.

And just outside, there is the village of Etrim, where families have been making traditional Turkish rugs for hundreds of years.

There are lesser-known destinations in Turkey that holidaymakers should consider visiting, including Urla.

URLA

The coastal town of Urla is often overlooked despite its amazing wine and beaches.

It has even been dubbed the Tuscany of Turkey due to its food and drink scene.

And one local travel writer said it was one of “the hidden gems of the Aegean,” thanks to its “upscale cuisine, wine tours, handicrafts, and a tranquil environment near the sea”.

A number of restaurants are Michelin Guide-listed, including OD Urla serving “creative French” food as well as Med food at Teruar Urla.

And there are vineyard tours you can go on to, with the Urla Wine Trail letting you visit nine along the way.

What is it like to visit Bodrum?

THE Sun’s Assistant Editor Clemmie Moodie visit Bodrum back in 2022, here’s what she thought.

“It turns out, there’s a new “cool” holiday destination in town — well, port: Bodrum.

“Known as both the St Tropez of Turkey and the Turkish Riviera — depending on your previous posh point of reference — this glorious spot on the Aegean is thriving. And deservedly so.

“It’s also around half the price of Mediterranean rivals, but with glorious, unspoiled beaches, and weather to rival any of them.”

Meanwhile, this airport has warned passengers to keep to strict luggage rules despite having the new scanners in place.

And this airport security guard revealed the mistakes that get passengers held up most frequently.
