Two new flights from Britain to an incredible city in Southeast Asia are launching this weekend.

From October 27 (this Sunday), Gulf Air will offer its first UK to Singapore routes, which connect via Bahrain with links from Manchester and Heathrow Airport.

Bahrain’s flag carrier says it is providing “great value,” with economy return fares from London starting at £541 and business class priced at £2,028.

The airline already offers direct routes to the Philippines and Thai capitals Manila and Bangkok.

Routes from Manchester will be priced at £556 in the economy and £2,033 for the business class as the carrier looks to undercut competitors offering non-stop services, according to Travel Weekly.

According to the outlet, journeys on the 787 jets will involve stopovers of around five hours for the London-Singapore flights and almost four hours for services from Manchester.

The London flights will be daily, departing at 9.30am and arriving in Singapore at 12.30pm the next day.

The Manchester route, which will operate five times a week between Wednesday and Sunday, will depart at 10.25am and arrive at 12.30pm the day after.

Flights from Singapore back to the will also be daily and depart at 8.25pm. The routes to Heathrow and Manchester both arrive at 6.35am the next day. Both journeys include a two-hour layover.

Joanna Patterson, Gulf Air’s Director of Sales, said: “UK travellers now have a great value, easy option for accessing Singapore via our Bahrain hub.

“This new daily route expands our commitment to the Southeast Asian market and is a key step in our global network expansion strategy.”

“Singapore is a vibrant hub for business and tourism, and we’re thrilled to offer UK travellers greater access to this renowned destination,” she added.

Singapore is known for its immaculate streets, strict laws, and low crime rates, and is often described as the safest country in the world.

Impressive high-rise buildings line the skyline of this grand city-state, hailed for its vibrant culture, world-class restaurants and hawker centres, and open-air markets where you can find some top-notch street food.
