TWO Scottish cities have been named among the UK’s most family-friendly locations.

Researchers at mother and baby retailer JoJo Maman Bébé ranked each city using Google Maps and Numbeo data.

They looked at the number of top-rated child-friendly activities, top-rated child-friendly restaurants, and how pleasant the atmosphere felt to visitors, including factors like cleanliness and pollution.

They also took into consideration how safe visitors felt walking around during the day, creating an overall city score out of 100.

The study ranked Edinburgh as the most entertaining city for children with a total score of 91.8.

The Scottish capital boasts 30 child-friendly attractions and 14 restaurants.

The city also scored 83 out of 100 for its pleasant atmosphere and how safe visitors felt while exploring, giving a total score of 91.8.

The highest-rated free attraction is the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh with an activity score of 94.9 out of 100, based on an average visitor rating of 4.8 out of 5 across 46,664 reviews.

Staying in the Scottish capital, in second place is Holyrood Park with 12,182 visitor reviews averaging a 4.8 rating. This city park has an activity score of 94.3 and is ideal for exploring on a sunny autumn day.

Meanwhile, Glasgow took the sixth spot with an overall score of 88.7.

The city has 23 child-friendly attractions and 15 restaurants suitable for youngsters.

It scored 78.1 for its pleasant atmosphere.

Glasgow’s best activity was named as the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, one of Scotland’s most popular free attractions.
