UFC 302: Sean Strickland Marching Forward

Must read

UFC 302 will be the first fight for Sean Strickland since he lost his middleweight championship at UFC 297.

Strickland has always bounced back against adversity. This has been proven not only with his UFC losses, but also the tragic motorcycle accident that stole precious years.

Being told by doctors that you may have to give up something that comes naturally would be devastating. To have a profession you excel at (so well it becomes your identity) almost be over before it starts would be mind-altering.

In the face of the beast we call life, Sean Strickland chose to reach down deep and be who he is – a fighter. Not giving up or never giving in to the maybes and doubt makes his career relatable. Not to physical fighting (that takes a different kind of breed to fully understand). To be a beacon for people looking for a light that they will make it in this busy, nonstop world.

Sean Strickland With Nothing to Lose at UFC 302

Sean Strickland is without a doubt controversial, but he is a world champion with a professional record of 28-6 and has beaten one of the greatest to fight middleweight.

Israel Adesanya, an unstoppable force since his UFC debut, was finished by Sean Strickland. No denying that night was a moment not just for the fighter Sean Strickland, but for people who were ever told they couldn’t do something.

Now enter the next monster to stand in his path, Paulo Costa. UFC 302 is another test for Strickland questioning if he wants to be champion again. Costa is a threat to any title contender with his power. But being the man Sean Strickland is, he fears nothing at this time in his career.

He was at the top of the championship mountain, where many believe he should reside today. A powerful mentality to tap into. The journey to being a world champion is a story that many have heard but as his fight continues, we may witness something great.

For some fighters we have seen, it never comes and it’s not because they didn’t try, it’s just because the moment didn’t present itself. Sean did that by fighting the best, going to war and marching forward.

UFC 302 Keys to Victory

It is beautiful poetry when Sean Strickland gets to work in a five-round fight.

There is a storm coming from Costa, that is inevitable – especially if he is down in the fight. If Sean can stay focused on slipping punches and landing his jarring jab. These would add up for Costa to slow his attack.

Strickland could fight for a world title if he can challenge all odds, fighting his way to the top of greatness.

A war is going to happen at UFC 302 and when the dust settles, it will and won’t deny either man a title shot next!
