THE BEST places to go for a night out in the world have been revealed by a panel of global travel experts.
Exploring the local nightlife is one of the highlights of a lot of people’s holidays, with the range of evening options hugely important when picking their destination.
Luckily for them, Time Out has put together its inaugural ranking of the World’s best cities for nightlife.
While there are plenty of exotic locations on the list, one closer to home has also made the cut, with Manchester coming in at eighth on the list, ahead of the likes of Buenos Aires and Singapore.
Time Out praised the city’s inclusive atmosphere, as well as its early rave spirit.
They wrote: “Manchester’s best clubs are equal parts inclusive and authentic, with clued-up clubbers rejecting mainstream venues and adopting the spirit of early rave in industrial estate venues like Hidden or The White Hotel.”
It’s unsurprising to see the northern powerhouse on the list, with some places even serving pints for less than £2.50.
Sinclair’s Oyster Bar is famous for its old-world interiors and its fascinating history.
However, the pub is also famed for its low prices with a pint of mild or dark lager priced at just £2.40.
The Grade II listed building was moved and meticulously rebuilt brick by brick following damage during the Christmas blitz in 1941 and a later close call with an IRA bomb in 1996.
Today, the picturesque 1720s inn still stands proudly where it was most recently situated.
As part of the Samuel Smith’s chain, it also aims to recreate the simpler times of the past, with mobile phones banned inside, to encourage punters to chat while sipping on their bargain beer.
The city also has a huge selection of nightclubs, with Time Out not the only ones to single out Hidden for praise.
Secret Manchester listed it as their top spot for a night out in the city, saying: “Hidden spans across multiple rooms in a five-floor warehouse building.
“Resident DJs Martin Loose Cuts and Anton Fitz regularly spin the decks, and there are four separate club areas here “
“There’s The Basement Room (The Den), Blue Room, Courtyard and Hangar Space, as well as exhibition spaces too.”
