Beer drinkers from across the UK can report the cost of their pint to the website to help keep an updated record of how much a beer will set Britons back across the country.

At the time of writing, according to the website, the cheapest pint in the UK will set customers back less than £2.

Purchased from The Robert Shaw Wetherspoon’s pub in Bolton, the cheapest beer, a Ruddles County brewed by Greene King, is reported to cost just £1.79. In 2019, Wetherspoon announced that more than 600 of the company’s pubs were now serving the Greene King brewed beer.

The average price of a beer in the UK is an estimated £5.22, according to cheapestpint.uk, which means the cheapest pint offers a whopping saving of £3.43 based on the national average.

The Robert Shaw is a Wetherspoon pub in Westhoughton, Greater Manchester. The pub takes its name from the film star and author Robert Shaw, who was born in Westhoughton in 1927.

He is probably best known for his leading role in the highly successful film Jaws. The pub serves a full food menu of all of the usual Wetherspoon pub grub dishes, plus a selection of cocktails and coffee.

When it comes to cheap beer elsewhere in the country, data from Finder.com revealed that the city of Derby is the home of the nation’s cheapest pint overall.

The figure represents the cost of a pint on average in the city, taking into account that some establishments may sell beer at a higher price and others may offer a cheaper pint. In the East Midlands city, punters can get a pint of beer for £3 on average.
