UK snow prompts Jet2 and Ryanair winter weather warnings

Must read

Jet2 said its operations team was continually monitoring the forecast, and stressed – “as usual” – it planned to operate all of its flights as scheduled.

However, it warned there could be disruption if the weather worsens. “The Met Office has warned wintery conditions are due to impact parts of the UK in the coming days,” said the airline and operator.

Jet2 passengers are advised to arrive at their departure airport and check in as normal, and to follow any updates sent via text or email.

Ryanair, meanwhile, warned of potential disruption to flights to and from the UK on Wednesday owing to snow and ice.

“Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from the UK on Wednesday 20 November should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight,” said the budget carrier.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these weather conditions, which are outside of Ryanair’s control and affect all airlines operating to/from the UK on Wednesday 20 November.”

Earlier this week, Manchester airport said it was taking steps to minimise any disruption owing to the cold weather, posting a picture to X (formerly Twitter) of its fleet of snow clearing equipment.

On Tuesday, it said: “Manchester airport is operating as normal this morning despite light, wet snow overnight.

“We encourage all passengers travelling today to check travel conditions before setting off and to allow extra time for their journey to the airport.”
