Set to open to the public next spring, the store on Paradise Street will span over 15,000 sq ft across two floors. The unit was previously occupied by premium menswear retailer Tessuti, which closed in summer after 18 months under Frasers Group’s ownership.
This year, Uniqlo opened the doors to four new UK locations, in Edinburgh, London’s Coal Drops Yard and 1 Oxford Street as well as a revamped store in Westfield White City. It currently has 20 stores in the UK including 17 in London.
The new opening forms part of the retailer’s wider expansion plans to open 10 new stores in 2024 across Europe including in the UK, Italy and France, followed by 15 in 2025, and 20 in 2026.
Uniqlo’s UK chief operating officer Alessandro Dudech said: “As Uniqlo continues to expand across the UK, we are dedicated to selecting the best locations to host our brand.
“Investing in Liverpool, a leading UK shopping destination was a natural next step, and Liverpool One was the obvious choice, given the unique opportunity to open a prominent, showstopping space on Paradise Street.”
Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Grosvenor, which manages the shopping centre, said: “Uniqlo is yet another international fashion powerhouse taking a showcase space on Liverpool One’s Paradise Street. Creating a bold, compelling hub of best-in-class international brands has long been our strategy.”
