Vertiv launches Environet Connect to boost EMEA infrastructure

Must read

Vertiv has introduced a cloud-based, vendor-neutral fleet management and monitoring solution aimed at enhancing visibility in edge and distributed physical infrastructure environments within Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The new offering, named Vertiv Environet Connect, is designed to manage diverse data centre infrastructure equipment across various locations, irrespective of the manufacturer.

Environet Connect provides an easy-to-use interface with customisable views and flexible dashboarding that is accessible on both mobile and desktop environments. It supports the swift deployment of remote Vertiv equipment and improves operational health and efficiency through mass provisioning and firmware updates of network management cards.

This solution’s monitoring capabilities extend to uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, rack power distribution units (PDUs), generators, and thermal units, providing customisable alarm notifications to enhance critical infrastructure oversight.

Wesley Lim, vice president of software and digital solutions for Vertiv, said, “Edge deployments are growing rapidly and may soon be driven by real-world AI applications such as large language models, predictive analytics, and autonomous vehicles. Although these applications currently operate in data centres, they may quickly shift to the edge to reduce latency and avoid processing bottlenecks. Implementing a secure, user-friendly, and web-accessible monitoring solution like Environet Connect would enhance operational visibility and maximise uptime for remote environments.”

Environet Connect is available to direct customers and channel-managed service provider (MSP) partners. It accommodates all user types and offers a multi-tenancy design, which simplifies the process for partners and customers alike. Vertiv provides various services to augment the Environet Connect user experience, including software training, a customer help desk, and asset management. The services incorporate tiered levels of technical support, firmware updates, device provisioning, and remote monitoring.

In a related development, Vertiv recently unveiled its end-to-end portfolio for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI deployments, known as Vertiv 360AI. This suite of solutions includes power, cooling, enclosures, end-to-end lifecycle services, and digitised management, with Environet Connect offering a common interface for solutions within the AI ecosystem.

Vertiv’s introduction of Environet Connect marks a significant advancement in managing edge and distributed infrastructure environments. By offering a cloud-based, vendor-neutral solution with versatile monitoring capabilities and user-friendly interfaces, Vertiv addresses the growing need for enhanced visibility and operational efficiency in diverse and remote data centre setups. As the demand for edge deployments increases, Environet Connect’s comprehensive features and support services position it as a valuable tool for optimising infrastructure management and ensuring system reliability across various sectors.
