Vitality Netball Nations Cup 2025: Fixtures revealed as England hunt further success in international window

Must read

England are set to play Malawi, South Africa and Uganda during the Vitality Netball Nations Cup across London and Nottingham in February 2025.

The four-day tournament, live on Sky Sports, will see the world’s leading nations go head-to-head, with England hoping to build on their successful international window, which saw them beat world No 1 Australia for just the third time in September.

The campaign will begin with world No 5 South Africa taking on sixth-placed Uganda in Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on Saturday February 1, before hosts England face Malawi later that day.

Vitality Roses head coach Jess Thirlby believes the tournament will be a challenge as up-and-coming nations continue to be a threat on the international stage.

“It’s important always to make sure we’re paying attention to these emerging, who are on the rise in world netball way out from what will be the next Commonwealth Games in 2026 and Netball World Cup in 2027,” Thirlby said.

“They’ve always got ability and talent in abundance, and when they harness that they’re a real threat on the international stage.”

The Vitality Roses secured the Taini Jamison Trophy with a 2-1 series victory over New Zealand in October . It was the first time England won the accolade since 2021 and the first time they won a Test series in New Zealand within the first two games.

By the end of the tournament, world No 2 England will have faced all six of the seven top netball nations across the 2024/25 international window.
