This time the striker joined Sky Sports to discuss his native France’s drab 0-0 draw with Portugal in the quarter-finals which led Didier Deschamps’ men to the semi-finals after a 5-3 win on penalties.

The Everton ace, who spent last season on loan at Brentford, wasn’t daunted by yet another poor display by Les Bleus, who have yet to score a goal of their own on open play.

Maupay confidently declared: “They [France] are gonna win it.”

The Frenchman was quizzed on whether he insists on that prediction after another disappointing performance.

But the explosive forward would have none of it, especially from English media after England‘s similarly poor performances in Germany.

This comes after Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand slammed Deschamps by claiming the France boss was “ruining the game” with negative tactics.

Maupay retorted: “As an Englishman you can’t talk about fluidity and the way we play, respectfully.”

The reporter proved to be a good sport as he started to laugh after yet another outrageous take by the controversial Premier League ace.

Maupay continued: “But we know how to win, I think. Deschamps knows how to get his team going.

“And I’m convinced, we’re gonna win it against England. That’d be even better.”

Fan bumps into Premier League star Neal Maupay getting fish and chips and supporters are in stitches at his response

Fans were left in stitches with Maupay’s banter and stormed social media.

One tweeted: “S***house up to his usual s***housery, why should we be surprised?”

Another posted: “This guy isn’t a troll on Twitter but also in real life.”

A third wrote: “Ultimate troll.”

This fan said: “Nah he’s a real hater.”

And that one commented: “How can you not love this top troll?”

This isn’t the first time Maupay trolls England during Euro 2024 as he did the same after their disappointing 1-1 draw with Denmark in the group stage when he sarcastically tweeted: “It’s coming home.”

The ex-Brighton star also imitated James Maddison’s darts celebration against Tottenham in January, before taking shots at the versatile midfielder on social media.

The Frenchman then looked to wind up United ace Scott McTominay, calling him a “fan” after the pair had clashed during a match.
