The new 2024/25 season brings with it huge excitement for fans as the domestic campaign gets underway.

Ahead of the marathon campaign, supporters will be eager how to watch their team in action, with the broadcast and streaming deals now confirmed.

Coverage of Premier League action will once again be split between Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Amazon Prime, with the latter showing the fewest amount of games in the coming months.

However, there will be a key change for the English Football League (EFL), and The Sporting News has all the key details on the brand new service called Sky Sports+.

What is Sky Sports+?

Launching at the start of the 2024/25 season, Sky Sports+ will offer a major increase in the amount of live sport available to fans, via a new dedicated channel with a particular focus on the EFL.

Coverage will be stepped up for the EFL, plus tennis, golf and rugby league, with the channel also available on streaming service Now TV and the Sky Sports App.

As part of the opening weekend of the EFL season (August 9 onwards) across the Championship, League One and League Two, the new service will live stream every game from across all three divisions, in, a first in broadcasting history.

The season plan includes more than 1,000 EFL games, featuring every EFL team more than 20 times, and every Championship club on at least 24 occasions.

Is Sky Sports+ showing Premier League games?

The current Sky Sports+ offer focuses primarily on EFL action with Premier League games covered by Sky Sports’ other services including Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Premier League.

However, the opening Premier League fixture of Manchester United vs. Fulham will be broadcast on the new channel as well as the likes of Chelsea vs. Manchester City and Aston Villa vs. Arsenal in August.

How to watch Sky Sports+ and cost

Sky Sports+ will exist as a dedicated linear channel at no extra cost to sports subscribers, but customers will also be able to access additional live streams on the Sky Go app and website.

Customers will still need to sign up to the basic Sky package and a Sky Sports subscription, though.

Prices vary depending on which Sky package you take out while fans can also sign up to a NOW streaming package that includes all Sky Sports channels, including Sky Sports+, for £26 a month on a six-month minimum contract. Day memberships start from £14.99.

2024/25 EFL Championship teams
