An influencer keen to soak in coastal views got more than she bargained for when her Airbnb ‘sea view’ turned out to be a mere poster.
Sunny Loop, the German influencer hunting for ocean vistas, was left flabbergasted after discovering that what appeared to be advertised as an inspiring sea view was nothing but a window poster depicting the ocean.
Mishap-turned-comedy, the surprisingly accommodation tale unfolded on TikTok where Sunny shared her odd experience.
The young lady had selected a seemingly picturesque stay on Germany’s Sylt Island, tempted by panoramic seascape views on offer, according to Midi Libre.
Upon her arrival, expectations quickly sank as she realised the so-called apartment was, in fact, a basement dwelling and the vaunted seaview a paper illusion taped over the bedroom glass.
Refusing to let dismay take hold, Sunny embraced hilarity over frustration, captioning her revelation with a hearty “HAHAHAH,” and tagging it as an “Airbnb fail”.
Her TikTok confessional turned her her gaffe into viral gold having amassed 3.8 million views. In the video, Sunny Loop said: “We were completely fooled.”
The internet reacted with astonished amusement, as one follower exclaimed: “Omg,” armed with a laughing emoji.
Another incredulous viewer could only muster a stunned “No way!” Giggles seemed to ripple through the responses, with one quipping: “I can’t stop laughing.”
And yet another admirer applauded astonishing creativity, cheekily scoring Airbnb a “10/10 for marketing”.
If Sunny had scrutinised the Airbnb advertisement more closely, she might have noticed that the property’s exterior photos did not suggest a waterfront location. However, the influencer claimed that the Airbnb ad did not explicitly state that the sea view was merely a poster.
