Woman leaves Ibiza restaurant ‘in tears’ after discovering price of water

Must read

Ibiza is a stunning destination known for its world-famous clubs, clear waters, beautiful beaches and incredible attractions – but it’s not cheap. In certain restaurants and bars located in prime areas, the cost of basic products are inflated to an exaggerated extent, surprising and sometimes outraging visitors.

Recently Nuria Casas, a well-known Spanish actress who shared her experience on TikTok, was stunned by the outrageous amount she was charged for a simple bottle of water at a restaurant in Ibiza, which is located in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain.

Nuria, who is known for starring in films such as Day Release and Barcelona: A Love Untold, said she left the restaurant “in tears” after paying the bill.

In the video, which has accumulated more than 1.3 million views, the Spanish actress confessed: “Yesterday we went to a restaurant and of course, obviously, we went with kids. It looked like a very nice restaurant from the outside, it was kind of a ‘mini city’ with many restaurants and we were already desperate so we decided to eat there. We went and asked the girl, ‘hello, can we come in with the kids?’, obviously referring to whether they had kid-friendly meals,” to which the waitress said yes.

However, after they sat down at the restaurant and looked at the menu they were puzzled to see there wasn’t really anything suitable for children, but things like lobster and seafood rice.

“We had already ordered a bottle of water, so we told the lady: ‘Sorry, we thought there would be food like macaroni, grilled chicken, something for the kids’,” explained Nuria. The waitress confirmed that they did not have such meals.

“Charge me for the water, charge me for the bread, whatever it takes, but we’re going to go next door,” the actress told the waitress. And she asked for the bill.

“17 euros for the bottle of water, the most expensive water I’ve ever drunk in my life,” confessed the actress indignantly. “I left crying,” she added.

Recently another woman was left stunned by the prices at one of Ibiza’s most popular night clubs – Ushuaïa. While entance cost her a whopping €100 (£86), a drink set her back €24 (£21).

shuaïa, which has become a big name due to its resident DJs this summer, including David Guetta, charges 24 euros (roughly £21) for a vodka and coke, and around 14 euros (£12) for a 500ml bottle of water.
